Sourdough 101

Hosting a class is simple and fun—here’s everything you need to know.

  • Your home! All we need is a large island or table(s) for your crew and a dough-friendly counter for shaping. A place to sit, chat, and snack is also helpful for the starter crash course. I can make most spaces work—reach out with questions!

  • Length: 2 hours

    Skill level: Beginner-friendly

    Typical class:

    • Mix - Combine pre-measured ingredients and start your dough

    • Mingle - Snack, chat, and learn all about sourdough starters

    • Master - Practice stretch-and-folds, shaping, and baking basics

  • Sourdough Starter Pack (yours to keep):

    • Pre-measured flour, water, and salt

    • Dough whisk

    • Mixing bowl

    • Live sourdough starter (in a mason jar)

    • Kitchen towel

    • Resources & Recipes

  • Time: Just 5 minutes to shape and 1 hour to bake—anytime within 3 days of class

    Tools:

    • Dutch oven (for a loaf)

    • Parchment paper or bread mat

    • Baking dish (for focaccia)

  • $400 for up to four people, plus $75 per additional baker (max 12). Payment details will be provided when your booking is confirmed.
